Mr. Tifft has appeared before numerous administrative agencies including municipal and parish councils and police juries, alcoholic beverage control boards, planning and zoning commissions, historical district commissions, the Louisiana Legislature, the Louisiana Licensing Board for Contractors, the Louisiana Pharmacy Board, the Louisiana Public Service Commission, the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Professional Biography and Experience

A native New Orleanian, Michael W. Tifft received a B.A. in communications and history from Loyola University of the South in 1983 and his Juris Doctorate from the Loyola School of Law in 1986. Mr. Tifft spent ten years at the New Orleans City Attorney’s office, becoming a Deputy City Attorney and then Director of the New Orleans City Council Utilities Regulatory Office. As Director of Council Utilities, Mr. Tifft assisted the Council in its franchise jurisdiction over cable and communication companies and its rates and services jurisdiction over Entergy New Orleans, Inc.’s electric and natural gas utilities services.

After leaving City Hall, Mr. Tifft was employed by Chaffe, McCall, Phillips, Toler & Sarpy (1996), the Law Office of Salvador Anzelmo (1996-2004), Halpern, Danner, Martin & Miles, LLC 2004-2009), McGlinchey Stafford, PLLC (2009-2010), before entering private practice.
